Under dispensation from the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario, King Solomon Lodge No. 329 was first opened on the 14th day of May 1875, by Right Worshipful Brother D. E. Broderick, DDGM of Niagara Masonic District No. 7.

By order of the DDGM, Wor. Bro. John A. Hoshal assumed the Gavel and exemplied the openings and closings in the several degrees. The Worshipful Master was John A. Hoshal, SW Bro. Frank Hartwell and JW Bro. John R. Benson

The first four meetings were held in the Dochstader Hotel.  Lea's Hall was then procured and occupied for the next ten years.  On June 24, (St John's Day), 1885, the lodge transferred to the Whittaker Block where it remained for the next sixty-eight years.  The lodge was transferred to the Masonic Temple at 17 Main Street North, Jarvis in April of 1953 and currently resides in the I.O.O.F. building at 23 Talbot Street East, Jarvis.
